Itinerary

    Arrive Leh

    Arrival at Leh airport and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day to acclimatise, as Leh is above 3,000 m. Overnight Leh. Meals: none.

    Leh sightseeing

    Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery and Stok Palace Museum. Evening panoramic view of Leh from Shanti Stupa. Overnight Leh. Meals: breakfast.

    Alchi excursion (65 km, about 2 hours)

    Full-day excursion to Alchi, on the banks of the Indus. See the 1000-year-old wall paintings in the monastery. Visit Likir Monastery on the way, and stop at the Indus and Zanskar confluence. Return to Leh in the evening. Overnight Leh. Meals: breakfast.

    Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (120 km, about 4 hours)

    Drive over Khardungla Pass to Nubra Valley. Rest of the day to explore Diskit and Hunder villages. Camel safari on the sand dunes is paid directly. Overnight in camp, Nubra Valley. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

    Nubra Valley to Leh (120 km, about 4 hours)

    Check out after breakfast and drive to Leh, with a stop at Diskit Monastery on the way. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Leh. Meals: breakfast.

    Pangong Tso Lake excursion

    Drive to Pangong Tso, a lake about 134 km long that extends from India into Tibet. The route passes Shey Palace and Thiksey Monastery and crosses the Changla pass. Return to Leh in the evening. Overnight Leh. Meals: breakfast.

    Departure from Leh

    Transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Meals: breakfast.
